“Do you want to join me for a walk at Emiquon?”, a friend asked me during my visit to Macomb this year.
I gladly accepted the invitation, knowing that Emiquon is a Nature Conservancy Project in Illinois. Arriving at the project, my friend, a volunteer there, parked the car next to an area closed to visitors with a barrier.
Having already informed the office about coming with a friend in the afternoon, we simply slipped under the barrier.
The view of the Illinois River and its floodplains was absolutely fascinating.
Vienna, my home town, and Emiquon are two worlds with nothing in common, but each of them special and beautiful in its own way.
