Eine tolle Idee. Kreativ und originell.
Ein farbenfroher Kunstautomat neben einem Cafe macht neugierig. Nicht in Wien, sondern auf der Insel Poel nördlich von Wismar. 4 Euro schmeisst man hinein und heraus kommt ein Kunstwerk – so wie eine Zigarettenschachtel aus einem Automaten.
Und weil man nicht alle Tage die Chance hat, so einen Automaten zu Gesicht zu bekommen, erstehe ich ein Kunstwerk. Und bin positiv überrascht. Neben einer Info über das Projekt an sich gibt es eine Kurzinfo samt website und social media Kontakt zum Künstler. Beigelegt ist – in meinem Fall ein kleines Bild des Künstlers aus der Kategorie „Kunst und Meer”.

ART AUTOMAT
A colorfully painted vending machine on an island in the Baltic Sea caught my attention. Similar to a cigarette vending machine, it said” Kunstautomat/ Art Automat”, something I had never heard of before. A card, attached to the automat, provided information about a very interesting project, founded by Lars Kaiser in 2001. Artists, participating in this project had to create a work of art the size of a cigarette box.
The purpose of the project was to connect artists and people interested in art.
As I considered this project to be a great idea, I inserted 4 Euros as instructed, chose the category “ Seashore” displayed above one of the sliders and pulled out an art box. Inside the box was a small painting by an artist from Dresden, Germany, a short bio with his contact details and information about the project itself.
As hundreds of artists already have already taken part in this project, you never know, of course, what you’ll get for 4 Euros. Having been introduced to the artist this way, there is always the option to buy a bigger work of art directly from him.
